Woodvale Playschool is a parent-operated non profit organization. We have no paid administration staff and rely solely on parent volunteers to help our school operate allowing our teachers to focus on school programming and the children. We do not have parent duty days. There are a variety of positions for parents to choose from and we encourage families to select a position that matches their skills and/or interests.
The Executive Board is a great way to be hands on in the decision making of the school. These positions are key to our success and it is very important parents consider taking on one of these roles. In order to be a member of the Executive Board, you must have a child enrolled in that school year. These roles are open to all Preschool parents, and you do not need to be in the school every day to take on one of these positions. The Board generally meets one evening per month or as needed to perform their duties. If you if are interested in joining the Executive Board, please contact our current President or one of the teachers. Parents who assume an Executive Board position do not have to participate in a Bingo.
Please consider joining the Executive Board if you have experience in non-profit organizations, minute taking, accounting or website management. These positions are essential for the overall well-being of the Playschool and are difficult to fill.

The General Board positions are also essential to the success of the Playschool. These roles assist the teachers with some of the small tasks needed to operate the school, which allows them focus on our children and the school’s programs. These roles are somewhat less involved than the Executive Board and don’t require the same degree of decision making. These positions are also listed below. Members of the General Board attend the monthly Board of Director meetings. These volunteers will sign up for a Bingo slot, however, if there are more parents then slots, these volunteers will be given the opportunity to not have to work a Bingo.
